1st Quarter Report Card
QB Sam Bradford A+ -- Bradford has certainly lived up to expectations as he led the Rams to a perfect 4-0 start thanks to his brutal efficiency. Bradford has completed 86% of his passes with 10 Touchdowns, ZERO Interceptions and a Passer Rating of 146.93. What's even more impressive is that #1 WR Donnie Avery has been out for the past three games, making everyone wonder how dangerous Bradford will be once his top target returns. Right now Bradford is making a charge for the MVP candidacy, something no one though was even possible with these weapons.
HB Steven Jackson B+ -- All things considered Jackson hasn't had a bad season but the rushing attack has not been consistent this year. Jackson has crossed the goal line six times on the ground and four times through the air so he's still finding away to get involved in the offense. If the Rams are going to make a serious charge through the playoffs though they are going to need to step up their running game and be able to control the clock.
Wide Receivers: N/A -- While they've been good the loss of Donnie Avery (and now Brooks Foster) makes this grade irrelevant as Week 1 showed flashes of how dangerous this unit could end up being. Gilyard, Robinson and Gibson have tried to pick up the slack but they need that explosive ability of Avery to truly be considered a complete corp so until that happens the grade is incomplete.
Offensive Line: A- -- The line has done an excellent job of protecting QB Sam Bradford, giving up only two sacks on the season but the running game isn't consistent enough to really give the full perfect grade. If they can start opening some holes for star HB Steven Jackson on a more consistent basis then this unit could easily be considered elite.
Defensive Line C- -- This unit has really been a disappointment so far only registering three sacks and giving up over 100 yards a game on the ground. DE Chris Long has been the only bright spot as he's got 2 of the sacks, including a big strip sack that allowed the Rams to put away division rival Seattle this week. Big improvement is needed from this squad if the Rams are to continue their winning ways.
Linebackers: B -- James Laurinaitis alone deserves an A, which tells you how mediocre the rest of the unit has been. JL is seemingly the only LB capable of stopping the run and if he gets wiped out on the play it ends up being a long gain. The Rams spent some good money to upgrade this core but so far they haven't produced and that has to be troubling to Rams fans. As long as JL stays healthy the Rams will be okay but if he goes down BAD things are in store for St. Louis.
Defensive Backs: A+ -- This unit has been outstanding, especially considering how poor the rush has been yet they've given up the 4th least passing yards per game while recording 9 interceptions. The much maligned secondary has really stepped up this year, which has to be a extremely encouraging sign for the Rams post-season chances. Bartell, Murphy and King have developed into an excellent trio as they've allowed all FS OJ Atogwe the freedom to roam in the secondary and make plays because of their excellent man coverage skills. If they can keep up this level of the play and they can get any sort of pass rush this defense could become scary good.

good stuff.
I can't wait till you play Kody. That could be a preview of the NFC championship game.

Me thinks that's a game for Matt Moore to handle.

I think you're overestimating Avery's "greatness". Sure he has great speed, but if you look at your new starting WR's, it's not much of a downgrade at all. Definitely not big enough to cost you a game.
Just my opinion.

avery is the best player in the league are you kidding me? lol the way the Rams talk he single handedly ended their season by getting hurt. You'd think he was a QB or something!

Well for those of us who understand how to properly pass the ball, losing a deep threat that forces teams to back up is a huge deal. It's part of the reason you have so many speedy WR's so clearly you're smart enough to see their value. So yeah the game is already over Kody just accept it now and move on instead of trying to ignore that serious fact. Falcons doesn't matter to me so I won't bother responding to his post.

more like an ogre......hahah thats funny shit. but i agree with a.g.n, speedy or not, a 70 rated WR doenst make or break your season. specially when you got some of the best QB ratings in the league.

Well I'm not sure what a respond is but it certainly wasn't a response. Also if you're only looking at OVR ratings then you clearly don't understand the point being made.

I think Juke can attest to my point based on our game last night. You need weapons to win and right now the Rams simply don't have any.

Yeah that's true but I think that's the whole point of a sim league. If I have the Colts I should be one of the best.
The Bucs don't have much better weapons though to be honest. Either way you should be competing for the nfc championship so yeah..

I'm benching Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams, Jon Beason, and Thomas Davis in our game just so I don't have to hear any excuses from you. We get it Gold, you're team sucks.
