Free Agency Bidding Process
Free agent bidding will be done using league manager - www.myleaguemanager.net.
MINIMUM ROSTER REQUIREMENTS
Each team must have 53 players on their roster at all times
Each team must be under the cap at all times
Teams cannot play a game until both requirements are met or special permission is obtained from WCFL Commissioner.
FREE AGENCY
WCFL will use a bidding system within My League Manager (MLM).
A player will have a minimum salary set by MLM and that minimum bid must be matched. Consider MLM as the player’s agent and that the minimum bid is the least amount of money that player will accept to play for your team.
Teams may only pick up two free agents per week and may only have two leading bids on the MLM Free Agent board at any one time.
The reason behind this is:
A. It allows everyone an opportunity to improve their teams by using the waiver wire
B. The rosters can be bumped up to 55 when the FA bids are processed and the player cuts can be made prior to the first game.
Teams with winning bids on more than 3 players will receive the two players who have the highest bid.
Teams MAY NOT pick up a player outside of free agency and must go through the WCFL commissioner for special situations.
Bids will be processed upon advance and teams requiring roster moves will be posted in the WCFL forums.
PLAYER RELEASE
Teams will post their player to be cut when bidding on a free agent.
Players will be moved to the team with the winning bid and this may cause a roster to become illegal for having too many players and possibly be over the salary cap. In this event, the team must post a player(s) to be released prior to playing their next scheduled game and with enough time to have that player dropped by WCFL admin prior to the game.
A team must select a player(s) to release that brings their team salary at or below the salary cap.
THIS PROCESS IS STILL UNDER REVIEW AND CHANGES WILL BE MADE AS NEEDED
PENALTY
Violation of the Free Agent procedures or playing a game with an ineligible roster will result in a one-game suspension of an offensive and defensive player for that team’s upcoming game (PENDING REVIEW).
Continuous violations may result in removal from the WCFL.
