Season 2 Off Season Off Season Transactionsa The Raiders are looking to improve on a team that won the AFC West in 2010. This off season started with the Raiders having to make a decision on one of their leaders, Richard Seymour. The leader of the defensive line was offered 8m from his former team, the New England Patriots. After much thought the Raiders decided to let Seymour go back to New England to clear cap space and gain the Patriots 2nd round Pick 6 in this years draft. The Raiders wish Richard Seymour good luck in his return to the Pats. The Raiders also received a offer for OLB/DE Trevor Scott. The Raiders decided to match the offer keeping Scott in the Silver and Black The Raiders have come to terms with Atlanta Falcons Restricted Free Agent LG Justin Blalock. The Falcons Failed to match the Raiders offer of 10.5m and have received Oakland's 3rd Round selection pick 25. With the signing of Blalock the Raiders have show indication that they will not be pursuing the re-signing of former #1 Overall pick LG Robert Gallery who is seeking a new team in free agency. The Oakland Raiders have announced the official signing of former Green Bay Packers MLB Brandon Chillar. Chillar was signed for the League minimum bid of 1m. Chillar is a veteran with great coverage skills and should be a suitable back up for MLB Rolando McClain The Raiders are also awaiting league approval on the signing of former Bears CB Zach Bowman. The Raiders are officially the high bidder for the CB after the 24 hour waiting period. The Raiders out bid the Arizona Cardinals with thier 11m offer. Final paper work for the transaction have been submitted to league offices. After drafting FS Sergio Brown in the 1st round FS Michael Huff expressed his desire for a trade. Huff has been sent to the Indianapolis Colts, in exchange for second year man DE Jerry Hughes. The former standout from TCU is expected to have a vital role on the Raiders Pass Rushing attack. After only playing in a handful of situations for the Colts registering only 3 tackles 1 sack and a forced fumble, Hughes is excited to be heading to Oakland. "I'm thrilled for this opportunity to display my abilities in Oakland. I can't wait to go inside the black hole and feed off that atmosphere. I'm also excited to be just getting out of Indianapolis, there is nothing to do there!" Jerry Hughes told reporters.

2011 NFL Draft Raiders Selections With the 25th Pick in the 2011 NFL Draft the Oakland Raiders Select... Sergio Brown FS - Kansas[/center] 40 YD Dask: 4.38 Bench Reps: 13 Shuttle Time: 3.84 Cone Drill: 6.70 Coach CV Felt that the team needed a more balanced FS and decided to roll the dice and add competition to the defensive back unit. Current Oakland FS Michale Huff is upset at the pick and has already expressed desire to possibly seek another team With the 6th pick in the 2nd round of the 2011 NFL Draft the Oakland Raiders select... Jermain Baker HB - Kansas40 YD Dash: 4.37 Bench Reps: 24 Shuttle Time: 3.90 Cone Drill: 5.62 With the second round pick 6 acquired from New England in the Richard Seymour compensation package, the Raiders go back to Kansas University and select Jermain Baker, collegiate teammate of the Raiders 1st rounder Sergio Brown. The Raiders were thrilled when this once thought of 1st rounder fell to their lap in the second. Darren McFadden was one of the top HBs last season, but did suffer from moments of fatigue after breaking runs of over 30 yards. Michael Bush was a decent spell back but with his free agent status and the Raiders needing a more determined runner Baker made sense for the Raiders. In todays NFL you have to have a two back system. Jermain Baker will spell McFadden in certain formations and should provide a terrific one two punch. With the 25th (slotted) selection in the 3rd round of the 2011 NFL Draft the Oakland Raiders select... Steven Gottschalk DT - Missourie40 YD Dash: 4.73 Bench Reps: 32 Shuttle Time: 4.24 Cone Drill: 7.23 With there 3rd round selection the Raiders chose another kid from the Big !2 Conference the 300 pounder from Mizzou, Steven Gottschalk. Gottshalk impressed Raider officials with his pro day and with John Henderson and Tommie Kelly winding down their careers, the Gottschalk will have his opportunity to become the future big man in that Raider Defense. The entire Raider organization and its fans welcome our signings and draft picks to
